As an Australian architecture practice based in Tbilisi, we place social sustainability at the heart of our work, designing spaces that promote connection, cultural continuity, and community resilience.

Guided by an anthropological lens we consider design not from a position of certainty, but with curiosity and openness.

Through collaboration with Georgians, we aim to understand, learn, and contribute to creating environments that emerge from their distinct cultural and social contexts, resulting in architecture that is both rooted and human-centric.

We adopt an Australian approach of learning from Country, an ethos rooted in respect, observation, and dialogue with the land. In Georgia, this translates into a practice of listening before taking action; we do not aim to impose form, but to learn from place and people.

By engaging deeply with the terrain, climate, and culture that define each site, we allow the land itself to guide the development process.

The result is architecture that authentically emerges from its surroundings, an artefact of context that reveals and enhances the unique genius loci of each place.

We recognise that the world is changing and that our planet - our shared home - is becoming more fragile.

Sustainability is not just a technical task but a way of understanding how we live, build, and relate to our environment. While scientific and doctrinal methods provide valuable insights, our approach goes further: it is rooted in listening, observing, and learning directly from the land.

This way of working acknowledges that wisdom is found not only in data but also in the land itself, through observation, dialogue, and care. In doing so, we seek a tectonic of response, architectural artefacts grounded in technology and craft rather than conformity to global norms.

Through this balance of knowledge and empathy, we aim to create buildings that respect their environment, endure through time, and contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable future.

Out of Place Artefacts is the research faculty of Wei Yap Architects, investigating how displaced, inherited, found, and re-situated artefacts can inform new understandings of place.

Grounded in diasporic return practices and local knowledge systems, the platform views artefacts not as relics of the past, but as active carriers of memory, climate, spatial intelligence, cultural narratives, and future possibilities.

Designing from the misfit, the leftover, the inherited, and the unresolved, Out of Place Artefacts explores how fragments of the built and natural environment can reveal overlooked relationships between people, ecology, culture, and place.

Through research, design, and critical inquiry, the practice generates new forms of spatial knowledge that connect past conditions with emerging futures, transforming artefacts into instruments for understanding, imagining, and shaping the world around us.

Second Nature is a Singapore-based landscape design consultancy bringing together experienced landscape architects with diverse international backgrounds and a shared commitment to thoughtful design.

Our work integrates ecological thinking with crafted landscapes across hospitality, residential, and mixed-use developments, ranging from large-scale masterplans to refined private environments and luxury resorts.
